Summer Vacation Begins! A Letter to the Beautiful High School Freshman-Year Days That Flew By Madly
Yesterday morning, after finishing the last exam, the bell striking half past nine meant that my freshman year of high school had come to a complete end. The freshman-year days filled with tears, laughter, pain, and exhilaration have finally drawn to a close. Looking back now, I realize that I once again spent an entire year acting crazy and fooling around, without learning anything well. No matter what aspect of life I look at, I seem to have been quite a failure. Well, so be it. It doesn't matter anymore—I'll live however makes me happy and be as carefree as I want. Life is only a few short decades long, and what could be more important than being happy(actually, there are things, such as TA)? As long as I'm happy, what else could I possibly be unable to get through?
I was assigned to a new class in my freshman year, and I chose the science track. Actually, the reason I chose science wasn't because I was good at any particular subject(I like Li), but simply because I especially like the sciences. I suppose what awaits me next will be countless mathematical formulas, physical laws, and chemical reactions. Fortunately, I'm extremely solid in biology, so I won't have much pressure in that subject. Over the next two years, I estimate that I'll put more of my energy into mathematics and English, since those two subjects are easy to score points in(so hard to learn), though I won't give up on physics and chemistry either; I'll just focus on studying them a bit more.
I really miss all my brothers and sisters in Freshman Class 15, whose warmth was like that of family, and I also feel nostalgic for the scheming and mutual deceit in Freshman Class 24. In the first half of the school year, I experienced warmth; in the second half, I came to understand human nature. Although the memories you left me with include both good and bad, I suppose they will all be sealed away in the depths of my memory. Even if we meet again decades from now, I will still smile at you. I really look forward to that—I truly don't want to say goodbye.
There are still fifty days of vacation. I wish myself a happy holiday.
