Main Text

After the Chinese exam of the National College Entrance Examination ended this morning, the essay topics from all provinces across the country were gradually made public. I took a look, and the most popular one was the Chinese essay topic from National Paper I.

Topic

According to a recent survey of international students in China, the “Chinese keywords” they are most concerned about include: the Belt and Road Initiative, giant pandas, square dancing, Chinese cuisine, the Great Wall, shared bicycles, Peking Opera, air pollution, beautiful rural areas, food safety, high-speed rail, and mobile payments.

Writing Requirements

Choose two or three keywords from the list to present the China you know, and write an article to help young people from other countries understand China. You should select appropriate keywords and establish an organic connection among them; choose an angle, clarify the issue, and create your own title. Do not write by imitating model essays or plagiarize; the essay must be at least 800 Chinese characters long.

Sample Essay (Zero-Point Essay)

Xinye rode a shared bicycle, singing Peking Opera, and traveled along the Belt and Road Initiative. Passing through beautiful rural areas, Xinye saw giant pandas square dancing on the Great Wall. This deeply attracted me, so I stopped to watch while eating Chinese cuisine, then used mobile payment to pay the bill. Although there was occasional air pollution, our food safety was good, and finally, because I had eaten too much and could no longer ride, I had no choice but to take the high-speed rail home.
