Gaokao

Yesterday, June 25, the Gaokao results for Guangdong Province were released. As someone about to enter my senior year of high school, I also checked mine, and it made me a little worried about where I’ll be a year from now.

I’m a science-track student, and my grades have always been around the lower-middle range. In the final exams of the second semester of my second year of high school, I struggled to score around 250 points. That’s more than 100 points away from the undergraduate cutoff score of 376, and I don’t know how hard I’ll have to work to narrow the gap.

Let’s set a small (big) goal for myself: break 280 points in the final exams, then strive to enter the 300-point range in the first and second mock exams. Although this will be especially difficult, I can only grit my teeth and keep moving forward!

Give Up

Last night, I made a major decision. With a heavy heart, I left all the groups related to iApp one by one. I’ve been using iApp for half a year and really like this development tool, but I had no choice. It was taking up too much of my time, so I had to put it aside for now. Maybe after the Gaokao is over, I’ll come back.

In addition, I’ve stopped operating the several websites I was running. Those projects whose plans had already been arranged will all have to be postponed until after the Gaokao, so I’ll let them remain paused for a year. Over the next year, I’ll devote my attention to studying. I may occasionally write blog posts and share my thoughts, but I won’t think about any other programming plans for now.
