I just finished watching “Wolf Warrior 2” the day before yesterday. I watched a camrip at home because I couldn’t afford to go to the cinema. Fortunately, it was still very exciting, and I really admire Wu Jing. He was the director, screenwriter, and actor all at once—doing the work of three people by himself. The film’s box office has currently reached 2.852 billion yuan, and it probably won’t be long before it surpasses the record set by “The Mermaid.”

“Wolf Warrior 2” captures the pride of the Chinese people and shows us what kind of presence China has in Africa. Although everyone is fighting in complete chaos, with the exception of the main villain, everyone in Africa—from ordinary civilians and rioters to the leader of the military government—takes “not offending the Chinese” as their mission. At the end of the film, when Wu Jing attaches the national flag to his arm and clears the way, the Black men on both sides who are exchanging fire all shout: “He’s Chinese—don’t shoot!”

Throughout the film, the romance is not the most touching, the battle scenes are not the most spectacular, and the action and character sequences are not the most explosive. Its greatest success lies in keeping up with the times and aligning with the themes of today’s Chinese Dream and dream of a strong nation. It is precisely the spiritual pillar that our great China needs most at this stage!
