At Last, It’s Time to Say Goodbye to the Wonderful, Fleeting Three Years of High School

The End

Finishing the last English exam meant that the more than three hundred arduous days of senior year, and the long three years of high school, had finally come to an end and drawn to a close.

Walking out of the exam room, an inexplicable sense of loss welled up in my chest. It seemed I was unwilling to leave just like that, to let it end just like that.

I saw my deskmate downstairs in the teaching building and forced a smile as I said, “It’s vacation!” Yet there was a bitter feeling to it. After this, I would never again sit with my deskmate in the classroom to study, play games together, or chat about everything under the sun.

Back at the dormitory, everyone was packing their luggage. One after another, people were leaving and scattering. Our dorm leader wrote all our names on the wallpaper on the wall, and I also wrote a sentence: Goodbye, my 708.

I’ll stop here for now. I’m going to take a rest.
