As everyone knows, WordPress uses Gravatar as its avatar source. However, Gravatar is an overseas service, so access from China is naturally extremely slow, especially with the existence of the GFW (Great Firewall of China).

Although many providers in China have also set up domestic Gravatar avatar sources, they are not particularly stable and cannot be considered a long-term solution. So today I would like to introduce a plugin that can cache Gravatar avatars locally, greatly improving the website’s response speed.

The only drawback is that it takes up website storage space (users with large hard drives can ignore this). In fact, it does not take up too much space, since an avatar is only about 1–3 KB.
